I am currently studying corals from the Kimberley region in northwest Australia. I want to find out why some corals survived the severe bleaching event in 2016 whereas others did not. Therefore, I am analysing tissue and symbiont parameters under the supervision of Dr. Verena Schoepf. The title of my Master Thesis is “Energy reserves and symbiont dynamics of Acropora aspera during and after a natural bleaching event in northwest Australia”.
